This morning I sat down and read through the whole ebook from beginning to end, and I have to say I’m pretty happy with how it came out. Gone are the poorly drawn faces (remember Brin and Gilrec looked pretty funky for a while in Chapter 2), gone are the inappropriate breaking of the 4th wall (except for the gag strip where I get clobbered by the cyber-sheep, I had to keep him in). There’s seven new pages replacing the old bar scene with Gilrec and Binder, and of course the two prequels, which I think refocus on what the story is about. Even though I miss a few bits from chapter one, I like how it jumps right into the main story now. Another benefit is, that any update I make to the ebook, say to fix something or to add something, anyone who’s bought one will automatically be notified and be able to download the new version for free. How cool is that.
Indecently, I’m also working on a print edition. But unless I get a publisher interested any time soon, it’s going to be in black and white and will be around $15. I’d love to do a color edition, but it’s just way too expensive for print on demand. I’ve already ordered a proof copy of the black and white volume, so we’ll see how it comes out in a couple days. So if you want it in high resulotion and full color, the ebook is a great deal.

BTW everybody, please let me know if the ebook came out too light on your monitors. My monitor is calibrated for print work (print always comes out way darker than whats on screen), and I did this book for both print and the screen. However, if you think it’s too light, I can easily fix that and upload the new version. I’m probably doing something wrong but I can’t seem to redeem the coupon.
I signed up with Drivethrucomics, put the book in my cart and proceed to checkout.
Now, when I enter the code into the coupon box and hit the “redeem” button it just tells me “Invalid Coupon Code”.
I tried copy&pasting the code and even had someone else enter it for me, it just doesn’t want to accept it.
I might have missed something while creating my account there or something like that as english isn’t my native language or it might have something to do with me setting the currency to Euros and the country to germany, but in any case, could you verify the code as posted in the news is working and it’s a problem on my end?
