No GravatarWow, I’m glad I finished the comic early this morning. Sorry I couldn’t get it done Tuesday, but I had a lot going on. In fact, this will be a busy week for me. I have a special project I’m working on, and I can’t talk about it yet because it’s too early in development right now. But that has been keeping me busier than usual. Besides that, I have some important events this week. So while I’ll try my best to have the next comic up Friday, it may be late. We’ll see.

Overall I’d say I’m fairly happy with how pg. 113 turned out. I’m not too fond of the background in the first panel but that was an experiment. I’m trying new methods for doing backgrounds and it needs more thought and work put into it. This page introduces a new character (obviously :P .) The whole scene with the pickpocket was added at the last minute because I felt the we needed an introduction to the new mysterious character. He ended up coming out a little too “lord of the Sith” in some ways. The funny thing is that the Sith had nothing to do with it. I was actually influenced by samurai and also the elves’ armor in the Fellowship of the ring. The armor on his arms is pretty standard to a lot of my characters over the years. His face is inspired by non other than Boo Boo our hairless cat. The little guy has such a cool face I had to use it. Incidently, his sword (called a blast-sword) isn’t a lightsaber. It’s an actual physical sword made of special composite materials that can be “energized” with a powerful energy field around it. Don’t know any techie specifics other than that. The idea was a lot like how Frodo’s sword would start to glow when orcs were present. Except that this energy field makes the sword more powerful. Or something :)
