I downloaded the demo of the new version of Photoshop today and started messing about with it. I even ended up coloring the new page using it. I just have to say that I *love* this new Photoshop. It is AWESOME. First of all, you can actually rotate the page to get a better angle when drawing or painting. It works really smooth. But the whole interface is such an improvement over CS2. When you have multiple files open they have tabs across the top, which makes it so much easier to switch between files. Just the whole interface is improved. There’s a drop-down menu that let’s you switch between a Typography or Painting or Basic or other interface layout. And I found that very useful.
If you’re interested in using Photoshop, I highly recommend trying this demo and testing out CS4. It really is worth the upgrade. I did try the extended version, which has the ability to add 3d models into the file. But it ran sooooo sloooow on my system that I don’t think I’d want the extended version. The standard version is pretty much what I need. I’m just so impressed with every aspect of the CS4 that I’m definitley saving up for the upgrade.
