Last summer I had experimented with putting up a new forum. But I only linked to it in a single blog post and then decided at the time that I didn’t want to bother with it, thinking no one would really use it. Then I sort of forgot it was there. Then today as I was fixing my site I checked the forum site and found that a few people had tried to use it and post (unfortunately a few spammers did too.) My apologies to those of you who tried to support it. I forgot there was any link to it and thought no one would use it, or else I would have checked back on it sooner. Now it’s defunct. I wasn’t really happy with that forum software anyway. It never really worked right.
However, as I am going to try to redouble my efforts with The Far Reaches, I have decided to try to do the forum agian. This time it is linked to in the menu at the top of the main site. So please feel free to use that link and make use of the forum. I will do my best to check it often so as to make it a success.
We’re almost finished with Chapter Five and then TFR will undergo some changes…for the better, I hope. For now I’m only going to update on Fridays and try to build up a buffer and use the time to do a lot of writing on the story. I will continue the main story, though as I said there will be a few changes, almost a “soft reboot.” The story will continue from where chapter five leaves off, but I’m planning to adjust some of the characters and plot ideas for the better. Gilrec will probably see the most change (I mean, come on. He’s a total wimp and needs a bit of reajustment or I’ll never be happy with him). In addition, I’m going to start trying to do a Far Reaches Lite comic strip for days when I just don’t feel well enough to do a full page for the story. This way you’ll always have at least some new content, and I intend to make them fun and short. They’ll likely be one-shot gags or two to three strip short side stories. They will do fun things with the characters or introduce new characters that can’t really make it into the regular story. So over the next month I’ll be doing a lot of planning and writing and trying to build up a buffer.
I appreciate everyone’s amazing patience while I was sick and burnt out, and I’d like to try and make sure a hiatus will not happen again.
