There’s a cool thing I’ve just been reading about, and it’s called tooncasting. Krishna Sadasivam over at PC Weenies was talking about it a while back on the Gigcast, and he has it available on his site. [Edit: Actually he's calling it the Drawcast rather than tooncast, which I think is something else.] And basically it would allow an artist to broadcast what he’s doing on his screen, so you get to see first hand how the comic is created, including tips and techniques. Shows are live and broadcast and you can watch live on UStream.com. You can also chat at the same time which allows live viewers to ask questions as the artist draws. It’s pretty neat. Shows are also recorded so you can always go back and watch it later. It’s kind of like a cool kind of performance art/tutorial kind of thing.
I’ve figured out the setup. So the question is, would anyone like to see how Far Reaches is made? Anyone want to see it live? If you’re following me on Twitter (see the link on the left side-bar) you can know when I’d be broadcasting or when I’ve put up an new video. Let me know if you’d like me to do this and make some videos, or if you’d like to take part in the chat. It’s super easy for me to do, so it might be fun.
