Well, that’s the fourth page in black and white. It certainly has taken me less time to render them, which I like, though I’m still not really happy with the look at this point. It’s okay. Part of the problem is that I’m not really comfortable painting in Photoshop CS2. I’ve only had it for a couple of months and I’m used to painting in Corel Painter. I know that wonderful things can come out of it, even in black and white as I’ve seen some nicely rendered comics. Take Lackadaisy for example (totally blows me out of the water). Granted her artwork is rendered beautifully in pencil to start with, but she does some amazing things with Photoshop. She also spends a tremendous amount of time on each page and so doesn’t update as often, but I can’t deny that it’s a cool comic. I’ll have to do more experimentation to see what looks right. I might just render it in Painter anyway. We’ll have to see. It took me a long time figure out the best way to color the comic, and it’ll probably take a while to make the black and white look decent. I do like that it has a nice clean look. It’s simple. I suppose that’s good in it’s own way. I don’t know. Maybe simplicity is better.
