My sister wasn’t so hot on this page, thinking the previous one with Lord Nefarious was better. But I thought it was kind of cute for a page with Binder in it. I wanted to show what Riffy and Binder where up to. Now what kind of trouble can they get into at a seedy black market?
For those who don’t remember, Binder (so named by his friends since he’s always getting them into a bind) was the hero-wanna-be that got Gilrec into the whole pirate trouble in chapter two. I realize he’s not everyone’s favorite, but I keep him around because I like Riffy Greefstone, and Binder is a good foil for Riffy. Despite Binder’s dangerous stupidity, he did help Brin and Pix escape the evil corporate hit-men by leading the way to Riffy’s ultra cool starship. I really want to develop them and make Binder and Riffy funnier and deeper characters.
My biggest problem with this page is I didn’t have time to really do good gestures and expressions. I’m still trying to figure out a satisfactory technique that’ll allow me to do color comics without taking forever on them. I’m so close to just doing them in black and white line art so that it’ll be easier to do the action oriented scenes. Speaking of which, there’ll be some of that coming soon.
Binder is one of those… He fills a niche. Just as well to have him there to do it than someone else.

yes, he does fill a certain niche. If it weren’t for him things would go so smooth and that’d be boring. BTW, what are peril-sensitive glasses from? Sounds like I’ve heard that before but I don’t remember.
Nonono, Binder doesn’t need a disintegrator … he’d shoot the ship out from around everyone while the battle was going on.
Yeah, good thing Riffy’s the one with the cash. And there’s no way he’s giving Binder any money.
Peril-sensitive glasses are from the Hitchhiker series, aren’t they? As I recall, they turn opaque whenever you’re in a life-threatening situation, so you won’t see anything that might cause you to worry.
Ok, I seem to remember that. Yeah, that’s just what he needs.
