This was a challenging page to lay out. I knew what I wanted to happen but working it out took some tweaking. For time’s sake I left a lot in silhouette, but I kind of like it that way. The biggest problem though was Gilrec in the last panel. Originally I used a 3d model to get the pose just right but I had the closed had with the artifact in the wrong hand. So I had to go back and fix it.
My favorite part of this page is how Gilrec kicks Koda in the stomach. Good for him. I really wanted him to fight back. Of course, I don’t think Koda meant to hit him back so hard. Probably a gut reaction after being kicked. Still, it landed Gilrec in a bit of a ‘joy ride down a thousand stories.’

Ohhhhh SNAP. I knew SOMETHING was going to happen, but I was not AT ALL expecting him to get THROWN OFF the ledge! XD (So on that note, you TOTALLY SUCCEEDED in the element of surprise! Congratulations!)
Poooor Gilrec…but major kudos to the man for defending himself! And Koda is probably adding a few of his own kicks to himself for being stupid enough to smack the -guy – and more importantly, the artifact – over a 1000-story drop. This is going to look absolutely terrible on his bounty hunting record.

Sort of like in…what was it called…oh, yeah, Castle in the Sky. That’s one I hadn’t thought of. Cool idea to have the artifact do something. I have something slightly different in mind.

=D COLOR! Ah, it looks wonderful in color. ^^ Lol, it would have indeed been awesome if the artifact suddenly activated and, say, transformed into an anti-gravity force field. Or, BETTER YET, was ultra-compacted in its current form, and suddenly unfolded itself into a one-man glider. Or something even cooler.
Can’t wait to see how he keeps from dying! 
Yeah, I’m really happy with how the coloring came out. The sunset sky makes it so much more dramatic.
I’m glad everyone’s getting into it.
Well, we can’t really accuse you of leaving us ‘hanging’ since he’s already in free fall.
