Yes, Tom Baker. That's the one I think of as the classic doctor. I've wish listed some episodes with him in it. The new one can be a bit campy at times, but I love David Tennant's personality that he brings. He's the reason I started watching it.

DeepDark: Yes! That's right. I had forgotten about the 'bag of holding'. But that's so true.

Quantum clutter-space pockets!
Every fantasy (even Science Fiction) should have it's 'bag of holding.' True that.

Tom Baker, the 4th Doctor with the scarf is probably the most popular of all the doctors. IF you can pull it off though, I'd suggest the beginning of the third doctor, John Pertwee (not sure on the spelling of the last name). The last couple of episodes of the second doctor were this epic series of a trial on Gallifrey (though the used the name trial of a timelord for a latter episode, not this one) and he ended up being sentenced to being stuck on Earth, I think with no time moving ability, but definitely no way to leave Earth through his TARDIS. So he was a lot more involved with that UN organization. Later he gets out of it and then Baker starts off. Seeing the change in personality is pretty cool. Cheesy special effects, but excellent writing- mostly, almost completely. Things started going downhill toward the end of Tom Baker- change in producer or something.

I've seen two episodes of the latest Doctor after having the long period of nothing (and the Fox movies does NOT count) and then just refusing to bother once I learned it restarted. The writing by Doctor 7 was bad *horrible image of surrealistic circus of the Apocalypse*. Now I will catch up, though I think the writing is a little campier than is good. Before they kept really good consistency on certain stuff and didn't having calling himself a Timelord to every Tom Dick and Harry.

Meh, almost end of fanboy out. If you'd like to read some cohesive coverage on the series up to the mid 80s, find a copy of the sourcebook that came with the basic FASA Doctor Who RPG. Great stuff with timelines of major events. Though I'd really suggest only doing that after you watch through Tom Baker at least, and into Colin Baker (6th Doctor if you think you'll read that far.

Switchoff of fandom...I was thinking Chancellor Ridicully talking about "all this quantum" that the young wizards are into nowadays. Now I see I wasn't off. :)

I haven't really seen the older Dr. Who yet, though I want to. My favorite of the older Doctors is the guy with the scarf so I'm going to start with him. Any really good episodes I should check out? They have them on itunes.

Anyway I'm really digging the new one. I had always wanted to do a character with a dimensional bag or pockets that were bigger on the inside and it ended up being Frak since I love how he has an endless supply of huge weapons.

The name, though is very Pratchett inspired. I love anything with the term quantum in it, and clutterspace just sounded funny to me. It's an entire storage dimension. There's one other character who uses this tech. We'll see him later.
