[Comic 216] A People Person

No GravatarI like this page. The computer’s dialog wasn’t part of the original script but I felt like it needed some more character. Anyone get the two references?

    I got the 5th element reference…

  2. TheDeepDark

Not the second, but I Looooovve the 5th Element Ref.! Rofl!

  3. Outlandish

Yeah, I thought that’d be fun. The second ref is more obscure. It’s from Terry Pratchet’s Lord Vetenari. But I thought it went so well together.

You wouldn’t think Kilgore would be the type to have his lair on a nice, lush planet like that.

  5. Outlandish

Yeah, I had thought about that. It really should be a dark, evil-looking planet, but in chap 1 Kilgore’s place was in a densely urban city, yet on the same planet as Gilrec’s lush country estate. Still, I may change it just for the look of the thing. Chap 1′s not even in the book anyway, and I doubt anybody remembers.

  6. Outlandish

I went ahead and changed the planet to a more suitably evil one. I think it fits his character better.

  7. TheDeepDark

Lord Vetinari… Oh, duh. Okay, I feel kinda slow :P

  8. Outlandish

It was a little obscure though. I can’t remember which book it was in, either Feet of Clay or The Truth. Can’t remember, but we have the audiobook.

  9. TheDeepDark

Hmm… Off the cuff I wanna say Feet of Clay. But that could be wrong.

  10. Outlandish

You know, I think you’re right. I’m pretty sure that’s the book. Good one, BTW. Not my favorite, but I like the Vimes stories.
