This is kind of an experiment. To be honest, I really didn’t want to do a comic today. I’ve been working on my other project and also trying to get some freelance work. But I had wanted to do this thing with Wellington and I couldn’t see spending a ton of time on a large full-size page for it. So I decided to experiment with a comic strip format. At least we have a strip today. I’m actually really happy with how it came out. I may color it later. I’ll probably do more like this and also full-page ones too. Some in black and white and some in color. I think it’ll depend on the comic. The thing is, I just am feeling a bit unmotivated toward Far Reaches at the moment. So this is a good way to keep it going. The strip size is a bit small. I may have to adjust the site to allow for larger sized strips. Either way, I’ll keep experimenting.
Aww .. The Far Reaches is in my top five absolute favoritest webcomics. Pleeeeeaaase keep it going!

I’ll try my best to keep going, which is why we have a simple comic strip today. It was that or giving up. But I am thinking of doing like some webcomics like Penny Arcade and others do, where the strip size depends on the needs of that part of the story. Action stuff will still be full size. And in color if possible.
But I figure keeping the story going, even in smaller 4 to 6 panel strips, is better than stopping it. I’m going to try to get ahead today, and do 3 strips for next week. If I like the way it comes out, then Far Reaches will go to a M-W-F schedule. I want to focus on the writing and story, and not have to spend 8 hours for a single page.
I’ve colored the strip. I think it fits in better with the rest of the art, and I like the evil mood around Gilrec’s uncle’s building. It’s like there should be a fiery eye or something.
I like the classic comic format, however the new format will be easier to load especially since I still have a dial-up modem so I am not complaining.

Yeah, I felt it was about time for Wellington to make another appearance.
As for format, next page will be full page classic format. It just works better for that page. So I think I’ll use what works under the circs.

I’ve actually redone this strip to fit a regular page for the ebook/print book and it came out looking pretty good. I may do that more often.
