[Comic 163] It was a really nice paint job too

No GravatarFor those of you who are just coming into this storyline, I realize that there’s probably a bit of confusion as to what’s actually going on and who’s chasing them. It’s been awhile since it got started. So here’s the links and the summery to get you up to speed. Over on page 107 our heroine, Brin Thade, received a secret mission involving the pirates from chapter two. So she travels to the planet Langevia to meet up with a hacker named Pix who will help her mission. Binder, the dangerously stupid guy who got Gilrec into the pirate infested cargo ship in chapter two in the first place, gets a crush on Brin and follows her which leads us to page 115. Here we also first hear from Riffy who’s talking to Binder on the comlink, we just don’t know it yet. Just as Brin was about to get Pix’s help for the mission, Binder comes in and makes a nuisance of himself. Pix, being mischievous, tries to egg him on. Just then they are attacked by these manically psychotic bug-guys in expensive suits on page 119. Our heroes escape out the back.

Fast forward to page 131 where we discover that the gun-happy assassins are from Gruesain Corp. and think Pix hacked their corporate system and stole a huge amount of money. She denies it, of course, because if it had been her she wouldn’t have gotten caught. Even so, Pix is incredibly ticked off because the bug-guys destroyed her shop along with all her collectible action figures, including her talking Go Moonchi Doll. Some of them were like totally rare, so the guy who set her up had better watch out. On page 132, Binder insists he knows the way to escape and tells everyone to trust him. Grudgingly, Brin trusts him as the only other route is full of crazy bug-guys shooting at them. That leads us back to the current storyline where Binder’s friend Riffy is waiting with his ship and has no idea what has been going on. Knowing Binder, Riffy blames him even though it’s not actually his fault this time (but it’s been his fault so many times before we might as well blame him.) So that’s the summery of the Brin/Binder subplot thus far. Stay tuned cause it’s not over yet.

Oh, if that was Riffy talking to Binder on page 115, I kinda like his sense of humor. Bottom panel, “Go Moonchi!” Hee!

  2. Outlandish

Yup, that was Riffy on page 115.
