[Comic 233] Not Gonna Stop
I think the toning in this one came out kind of nice. I like that Gilrec is starting to show some backbone.

Go Gilrec, go!

Woohoo!!! Gilrec is actually showing backbone!

Ooo, impressive. His video games have given him mad improvised combat skills.

I don’t know if it is necessarily backbone or just the pure drive of someone who wants to get the hell out of there and away from the madness of life.

Drive, backbone… Not all that different. Gotta give him credit for “not stopping” either way, in my opinion.

Yup. He’s trying to survive any way he can.

Yup. Always trust the freaky lightsaber-wielding mercenary to spare you if you hand over what he’s after.

Personally, I think he just chooses his battles VERY carefully. He only fights when he has a chance of coming out alive. Victory is just a bonus.

I’m really loving this plot so far.
I think this would look a bit cooler if you had some blur effects to the sword when Koda swings it. Gilrec also doesn’t look very frightened, but I guess that’s because he thinks he’s winning?

Yeah good points. A blur effect or motion lines would be good with the sword. And he probably should look more scared in the last panel. Maybe Bentley’s little pick me up gave him an extra bit of courage
(or maybe I just didn’t think to make him look scared enough.)

Or maybe he’ll be scared later. Right now the adrenaline’s flowing and he doesn’t have time to be scared.

Finally, some character development for Gilrec. Though the action is a little off, it looks like he is just sort of ambling along.

Yeah, that’s hard to get right.
