For those new readers who are wondering what’s going on, Gilrec was forcibly engaged to be married to Vellara (the evil blonde) by his even more evil uncle Kilgore. You can see it here. Vellara and her father saw this as a powerful merger between their two fortunes, here. With so much money at stake and Gilrec lacking the force of character to keep from getting steamrollered by his uncle and Vallera, it seemed hopeless. But now…
I’m really happy with how the art has come out on these last two pages. I’ve been spending extra time rendering the characters in Painter and I think it looks nice and painty. I especially like how Alfonse the robot came out. My primary brush is a camel hair oil brush with the tip shape set to circular instead of camel hair. This brush is cool because it automatically blends colors and the lighter you go the more it blends strokes. I do all the shadows with a medium red or blue color on a multiply layer, and highlights on a normal layer.

Wow… loving the way your doing the uncle now, his force of character (and evilness) is far more apparent… Instead of thinking “Man, this guys a wimp.” like I did at the start of the comic I’m thinking “Ya… I’d do the same thing <_<”

Thanks, Cyrik! I appreciate it. I definitely think the uncle’s coming into his own and we can really see why Gilrec’s such a wimp. This has been my first comic and first story since I was in High School (a long time ago.) So it really did start off slow and with little planning. It’s taken me a long time to really figure out how to do this. But I’m glad you all have stuck around despite a rough start.
