No GravatarHey-o, everyone! Baltimore comic-con was amazingly awesome. In fact I think I may have to come up with seven new layers of awesomeness just to describe it. It was great to meet so many people and the Far Reaches was very well received. In fact, I was astonished. I’ll have to post some pictures. In a long standing tradition for me I took like five pictures the whole time. I always mean to take more and I never do. [Edit: Here's some pictures. The couple were one of the artists and his wife sitting next to me. Everyone was super nice, which made for a great con. I really wish I had gotten more pictures, but that's so typical for me. You can also see my booth.]

I got to catch up with Scott Sava of Dreamland Chronicles, and that was a pleasure as always. I also got to briefly talk to the Halfpixel guys, Dave Kellett, Kris Straub, Brad Guigar, and Scott Kurtz. But only for a minute. I didn’t get to buy anything or do any person browsing, which was a bummer. But I figured I was there to show off Far Reaches and meet people, not to mention sell the print edition of the graphic novel. So I didn’t want to be away from my table. But people really took to Far Reaches, which was awesome, and as I said astonishing to see. In fact, what really amazed me was the diversity of people. People of all ages, guys and girls, men and women, little kids, all kinds of people really liked the comic and the art.

For anyone from comic-con just joining us, or if I gave you and post card, welcome! If you’re just taking a look at FR for the first time, you might want to check out the new readers page which will get you up to speed, although there are some spoilers if you’re wanting to read the whole archive.

Now I had hoped to have the comic for Tuesday done by now, but I spent most of the day recovering from my trip. While comic-con was a blast the actual traveling was exhausting. I won’t weary you with the unspeakable horrors of it all, mainly because it was, in fact, unspeakable. So I just can’t say. (Okay, I exaggerate. It was only mostly unspeakable.) It was actually pretty smooth, but I was up nearly 23 hours Sunday, and I’m getting too old for that sort of thing. So I spent most of today kind of out of it. But it was all worth it for the seven-layered awesomeness of the trip and I’ll be fine tomorrow as soon as I get some sleep. So I’ll be working on the comic first thing in the morning and keep you updated via twitter.

Way to go Jerry. Ignoble is the word that comes to my mind about air travel. It’s so bad that it’s a marvel we all put up with it. Group think in the negative, I guess. But it’s the destination, not the journey. Sure am impressed with all your success. Keep up the artistry!
