Here it is…finally. Yes, that’s right. The page I’ve been wanting to finish for ages is finally done. All told this page represents about two weeks of work, not counting all the interruptions and annoying things that kept coming up. I’m glad I took my time with this page. It’s not something I could have done several months ago. I’m also going to be releasing a couple wallpapers of the main establishing shot.
And with this page we finally return to the Brin, Pix, Binder subplot, and things are really going to get moving…I hope. For more info on this subplot, it starts on page 107, then page 115, and finally page 131. It’s been a while, but that should catch you up. I’m really glad we’re getting back to it.
This page relies heavily on Photoshop to composite everything and do the effects. I think that’s one of the secrets to doing successful 3d. You’ve got to know what to do in the 3d program and what to do in post production.

Although, what comes next is going to be a big challenge. I want it to be the big finale of the print book.
And we’ll be hearing from Koda and Frak before too long. My goal is to not over do it and to stay on schedule so that the comic gets out. I’m also limiting each page to two to five panels so that they don’t take too long. The next couple pages will be fun though. I can’t wait. I’ve got doctor’s appointments all week (just usual stuff but they all piled up somehow), but I’ll see if I get the next page done soon.
Oh, and I’m so glad you liked it. Originally, it was going to be a much simpler background. But then I got inspired to make it something cool, and then I had that screen there. That’s where the idea to have Vellara on the news just sort of came up. I thought it would add to the page. I’m pretty happy with how it came out.
Is there a reason we can’t get a good look at what Gilrec’s doing in the ad? Will we see better later? Was he looking at his watch when she popped an arm through his?
Nope, no reason in particular. To be honest I used a picture of them from an earlier page because I liked his surprised expression.
I thought his expression went well with what she’s saying to the press. But it’s just a background thing though. The real business is coming up.
